Landscapes

What is a photograph? An array of light frozen onto a surface, rendered through chemical reactions and colours. Then a digital image is an ordered arrangement of pixels that, when viewed as a whole, create a hopefully recognisable shapes and forms.

These images are how a GAN trained solely on natural landscape photography interprets and reimagines digital landscapes suchs as computer desktops. Folders and icons turn into architecture, windows and typography turn into trees and mountain ranges. To the machine, every image in existence is a natural landscape, waiting to be moulded and morphed.
